Dear Fellow Patriot,

In a shady late-night maneuver, the unelected Harry Reid-appointed Senate Parliamentarian gutted key pro-gun provisions from the “Big, Beautiful Bill,” robbing gun owners of the best chance in 90 years to cripple the National Firearms Act .

But it was Republican leadership who let it happen. They had the power to completely ignore her ruling, as both parties have done in the past.

That’s why we’re demanding Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) stop cowering behind the Parliamentarian's sham decision, fire her immediately, and aggressively pursue demolishing the National Firearms Act in the next reconciliation bill.

Sign your petition below so we can deliver your message straight to Thune’s office and make it clear: gun owners refuse to be silenced by unelected bureaucrats.

For Freedom,

Dudley Brown
President
National Association for Gun Rights

WHEREAS: Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough was appointed in 2012 by anti-gun U.S. Senator Harry Reid, and has since played a powerful -- and unelected -- role in shaping national legislation; and

WHEREAS: In the recent reconciliation process, Parliamentarian MacDonough incorrectly ruled that pro-gun provisions removing short-barreled firearms and suppressors from the National Firearms Act (NFA) were not budget-related -- despite the U.S. Supreme Court explicitly declaring in Sonzinsky v. United States that the NFA is, in fact, a tax statute; and

WHEREAS: The Founding Fathers never intended for one unelected bureaucrat to wield such sweeping authority over legislation, and Senate precedent clearly shows that leadership has the full authority to ignore or remove the Parliamentarian;

THEREFORE: I respectfully urge you to use your power as Senate Majority Leader to immediately remove Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough for her improper rulings during the reconciliation process, ensure that pro-gun reforms are protected in future legislation, and seek to demolish the National Firearms Act.
